Raymond Hildreth Boatright, 79, of Belpre died Feb. 26, 2005, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 8, 1925, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a son of the late Ernest Boatright and Orva Kimble Boatright Schoolcraft. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a maintenance worker at American Power and attended the United Methodist Church in Cutler, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Richards Boatright of Belpre; daughter, Debbie Boatright of Belpre; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg Boatright of Chester, Ohio, Nathan and Ivonne Boatright of Rockledge, Fla., and Chris and Carol Richards of Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Olena and James Hopkins and Leola Schellengburg, all of Akron, Ohio, Wanda and Jim Stone of South Carolina, Beverly and Hal Wilber of Florida and Patricia Richards of Belpre; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Ford and Phyliss Boatright of Illinois and Howard and Marge Boatright of Akron.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Schartiger Boatright.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Ewing Funeral Home, Pomeroy, Ohio, with the Rev. Herbert Grate officiating. Interment will be in Chester Cemetery. Calling hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Obituary: Howard D. Boatright, 81, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011.

Howard Daniel Boatright

Born March 5, 1930 in Sand Ridge, W.Va., he was a resident of Barberton-Akron since 1947. Howard was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict being one of the first to survive Hemorrhagic Fever and the use of the antibodies he produced were used to assist in the recovery of other soldiers, he retired from PPG Industries with 37 ½ years of service and was a member of Hope United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by his son, Todd; parents, Ernest and Orva; brothers, Hildreth and Ardell; Howard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marjorie E. (nee Sands); sons, Douglas Craig (Karen) and Howard Curtis; grandchildren, Cory, Cari, Dayna, Ryan and Monica; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Olena Hopkins, Leola Shillingburg and Wanda Stone.

The family would like to thank the staff at Maison Aines in Stow and also the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Road for the care and support that Howard and the family received.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Pastor Tom Badnajek officiating. Burial Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday 6 to 8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hope United Methodist Church, 2650 Cory Ave., Akron, Ohio 44314.

MARSHALL, Ill. - Ford A. Boatright, 75, of Marshall died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Burnsides Community Health Center. He was retired from the education department at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, having officially retired in 1983, from the Terre Haute, Ind., facility. He was born Aug. 3, 1933, in Sandridge, W.Va., to Ernest Boatright and Orva Kimbele Boatright. He married Phyllis M. Plant, on March 17, 1953, in Charleston, W.Va.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Johanna Ray and husband Michael of Columbia, Mo., and Rachelle Henderson and husband Jeffrey of Marshall; two sons, Stephen Boatright of Paris, and Jeff Boatright and wife Gail of Marshall; three grandchildren, Amy Riffle and significant other Sam Flowers, of Terre Haute, Josey Boatright and wife Leslie of Las Cruces, N.M., and Cole Boatright of Marshall; two stepgrandchildren, Sarah Ray of St. Peters, Mo., and Ashley Houghton of Marshall; three great-grandchildren, Payton Walters of Marshall, Destiny Flowers and Jaidlynne Flowers, both of Terre Haute; one stepgreat-grandchild, Emily Bentley of Marshall; three sisters, Olena Hopkins and Leola Shillingburg, both of Akron, Ohio, and Wanda Stone and husband Jim of Hemingway, S.C.; a brother, Howard Boatright and wife Marjorie of Akron; and his beloved dog, Shadow. He also was a member of Lodge 133 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of Danville, Zorah Shrine Temple, and was a member of the Employees Club at the U.S. Penitentiary in Terre Haute.

Services in honor of his life will be 1 p.m. CST Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. Sixth St., with the Revs. Richard Lewis and David Deal officiating. Burial is in Marshall Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by Post 90 American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975, and Amvets. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with Masonic services at 7 p.m. There also will be visitation from 7 a.m. until services Wednesday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church; or to the building fund of Lodge 133 AF&AM.

Announcement is being made of the marriage of Miss Nina Starcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen B. Starcher, of Millstone and Mr. Claude L. Boatright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gay Boatright of Sand Ridge, which took place in Akron November 2 at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Winifred Dague officiating with the single ring ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Mr. Delbert Starcher, wore a street length dress of pink wool with brown accessories and a shoulder corsage of gardenias and pink rosebuds. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace with matching earrings. She wore the traditional something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a penny in her shoe for good luck.

Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Starcher, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, and Miss Leah Ruth Starcher,. Mrs. Delbert Starcher is also the aunt of the bridegroom.

Mrs. Boatright attended Calhoun high school and for the past two years she has been employed in Barberton, Ohio.

Calvin C. Boatright of Sandridge, W.Va., died March 2, 2005, in the hills with his faithful dog, Shorty.

Calvin was born Jan. 3, 1926. He spent 22 years in the Army and traveled the world. He said no place was better than Calhoun County, where he farmed the land he loved for most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Norman; and brothers, Pete, Jim and Odell Boatright.

He is survived by his sister, Paula Price; brothers, Roy and Fairley Jack Boatright; and many nieces and nephews.

Calvin will be missed by his family, neighbors, friends and many good and caring people of Calhoun County.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Burial will be at Sandridge Church Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.

MEDFORD- Jack Norman Boatwright, 68, Medford, a former long-time Klamath County resident, died on Thursday in Medford.

Mr. Boatwright was born Jan. 29, 1914, to Charles and Bertha Boatwright in Gentry, MO. The family moved to Talent in 1940.

In 1952, Mr. Boatwright and his family moved to Keno, where he was employed at the Keno Sawmill.

In 1962, he and his wife Joe operated the Keno Cafe and later had the Midland Cafe for a short period of time. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1974.

He moved to Medford a short time ago due to health reasons.

Mr. Boatwright was an avid hunter and fisherman. He ministered in jail throughout the Klamath County.

Survivors include his daughters, Viola Hollinger of Klamath Falls and Delores Prefontaine of Portland; grandchildren, Linda Adreon of Seattle, Wash., Bill White of Portland, and Jim Hardin, Terry Brewer, Tim Hardin, Jerry Hardin and Sherrie Hawkins of Klamath Falls; four sisters; three brothers; numerous other relatives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Davenports Chapel of the Good Shepherd in Klamath Falls. Concluding services and interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. on Monday at Davenports Chapel of the Good Shepherd.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Fund.

Charles Boatwright, 82, Ridgeway, Mo., died March 30, 2004, at a Bethany, Mo. Nursing home.

Mr. Boatwright was born in Greely, Colo., on March 18, 1922, the son of Charley and Bertha (Garrett) Boatwright. He married Louise I. Massengale on Oct. 3, 1983, and she survives of the home. He was a crane operator and steel worker. He was preceded in death by is parents and four brothers.

In addition to his wife, he leaves stepdaughter Sylvia Fisher, Renton, Wash.; two stepsons, Lawrence Ferguson, Wala Wala, Wash., and Larry Gerkin, Missouri; two half-brothers, Wilber Boatwright, Eagle Point, Ore., and Acey Wayne Boatwright, Central Point, Ore.; several nieces and nephews in Medford, Ore. And Klamath Falls, Ore., and special friends Gary and Pauline Manwiller, Ridgeway, Mo.

A graveside service wil military honors will be held at11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at the Masonic Cemetery in Eagleville, under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Veteran's Association and/or First Christian Church of Eagleville, in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 46, Bethany, Mo. 64424.

Funeral services for Ila M. Motzkus, 81, De Soto, were Monday, March 30, at De Soto United Methodist Church. Burial was in De Soto Cemetery.

Mrs. Motzkus died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Sharon Lane Nursing Home in Shawnee. She was born May 28, 1922, in Stanberry, Mo., the daughter of John Francis and Lulu Ethel (Jennings) Boatwright. She moved to Sunflower Village with her family in 1951 and then to De Soto. She graduated from Stanberry High School.

Mrs. Motzkus worked for Bendix Corp. (now Allied Signal in Kansas City) for more than 23 years as a telephone operator. She also worked at Sunflower Ordnance Plant and retired in 1983. She was an active member of De Soto United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the FCE Club and YW Club, both in De Soto.

She married Gilbert Martin Motzkus Aug. 5, 1939, in Savannah, Mo. He died in 1993. Survivors include a son, Larry Martin Motzkus, Shawnee; two daughters, Shirley Darlene Gardner, Katy, Texas, and Ruth Ellen Motzkus, Shawnee; three brothers, Leland B. Boatwright, Carthage, Mo., John A. Boatwright of Arizona, and Jerry L. Boatwright, Stanberry, Mo.; two sisters, Verna E. Simmons, North Kansas City, Mo., and Ruby A. Gregory, Stanberry, Mo.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A brother, Marvin W. Boatwright, and a granddaughter, preceded her in death. Memorial contributions can be made to the De Soto Fire Department.

Bruce Funeral Home in De Soto was in charge of the arrangements.

Marvin W. Boatwright, 48, former resident of Alanthus, died unexpectedly Monday on arrival at a hospital in Kansas City.

Services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Johnson Funeral Home. There will be graveside services by the Stanberry Masonic Lodge. Burial in the Jennings cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Norma Boatwright of the home: three sons, Kenneth Boatwright of Laramie, Wyo., David Boatwright of Denver Colo., and Marvin Boatwright of the home; a daughter Mrs. Barbara Page of the home; and his mother, Lulu E. Boatwright of Stanberry.

He also leaves three brothers, Jerry Boatwright of Stanberry, Leland Boatwright of Carthage, Mo., and John Boatwright of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Gregory of Stanberry, Mrs. Verna Simmons of Kansas City and Mrs. Ila Motzkus of DeSoto, Kan.,; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Boatwright, son of the late John Boatwright and Mrs. Boatwright, was born Nov. 12, 1924, in Alanthus Grove, Mo. For the past 20 years he had lived in Kansas City and was employed as a truck driver.

He was a member of the Sterling Acres Baptist church and the Teamsters Local No. 41, both on Kansas City, and the Alpha Masonic Lodge in North Kansas City.

Earlier services were held Tuesday night in the Shield Colonial Chapel in Kansas City.
