David Lee Boatright, 81, died at his home in Wardell on Saturday, October 19, and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Wardell Church of Christ with the Rev. John E. Owens officiating. Burial was in Portageville cemetery, with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home service.
Mr. Boatright was born January 29, 1876, at Lexington, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Anna Boatright, of Wardell; two sons, Steve and Donald Boatright of Wardell; two daughters, Mrs. Willie Glass of Bragg City and Mrs. Teddy Poole of Detroit; one sister, Miss Almeda Boatright of Lexington; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary A. Boatright, 75, resident of Wardell for many years, died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 15, after an illness of several days. She was born in New Madrid County on February 3, 1890.
Funeral services were held at the Wardell Church of Christ on the following Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. John R. Owens oficiating. Burial was in Portageville Cemetery with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home service.

To reach cemetery go 1 miles east of the post office on Old Mill Creek Road and look for the large white water tower on the south side of road. The cemetery is beside the water tower. This cemetery was begun in 1901 when the town of Mill Creek moved to it's present location. After the Frisco RR came through, the town moved 4 miles east, leaving the Old Mill Creek Cemetery behind. The old cemetery is located on the Penner Ranch west of Mill Creek. There is one stone in the new cemetery that is dated 1874 and this would indicate that there was probably a family cemetery in the area well before 1901. All other stones are dated after 1900.

James Madison Boatright; aged 70, passed away at the family home at Pontotoc Monday afternoon, March 16, 1936, at 5 o'clock.
Funeral services were held at the Pontotoc cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with interment following.
Rev. Joe Eubanks of the Holiness church was officiating minister. Keith Funeral Chapel was in charge of services.
The deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Emma Jane Norman, Mrs. Myrtle.Snoddy and Mrs. Eunice Harden, and three sons, W. H. Boatright, James B. Boatright and J. T. Boatright.
