Death Of Infant

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Boatright, of Birmingham, died at the home of Mrs. Boatright's mother on Wednesday night of last week, following an illnes of nearly three weeks of pneumonia, during which time the little boy ahd made a gaining fight, until the end of the second week, a sudden relapse was fatal.

Mrs. Boatright, before her marriage, was Miss Bessie Jimmerson, and was very popular among a wide circle of friends, and these are sympathizing with her in this sad hour.

Besides his parents and his grandmother, Mrs. T. O. Jimmerson, the deceased leaves several aunts and uncles and other more distant relatives who are sorrwing for him.

Funeal services were held at Lanett Baptist Church Thursday afternoon, Rev. C. B. Martin, being assisted by Rev. D. M. Joiner, Rev. H. M. Gray and Rev. S. P. Spigel. The interment was at Lanett cemetery, T. L. Crouch, funeral director in charge.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Lanett, Chambers County, Alabama

Mr. Boatwright, 84, of Aiken, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Aiken County, he was the son of the late James B. and Myrtis Plunkett Boatwright. James retired from DuPont (Savannah River Site) after 35 years of service in the Traffic and Transportation Department, and he also ran Boatwright's Grocery. He was an avid cattle farmer, who loved to hunt, fish and work. He served his country in the Army during World War II in the 82nd Airborne Division.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Boatwright; daughters, Barbara Day, Patricia Tucker and Nancy Boatwright; a son, James E. Boatwright; sister, Kate Hall; stepson, Marion Scott. He is survived by his fiancee, Bonnie Hardin; daughter, Eleanor "Ellie" (Mickey) D. Whisnant of Aiken; son, John Boatwright of Aiken; stepson, Jerry Eugene Scott of Duluth, Ga.; sisters, Lula Holsenbach and Helen Corder, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Ralph J. Boatwright, age 86 of McDonough, Georgia passed away July 9, 2012. He was born in Gilbert Hollow, SC to the late John Mose and Thelma Mae Poole Boatwright. He was preceded in death by siblings, Grady and James Boatwright and Louise Griswell. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII, was owner of R. J. Boatwright Trucking and was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed trucking, NASCAR and watching Gene Autry movies with his Border Collie, Maggie.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Nancy Harris Boatwright of McDonough; son, Michael (Melinda) Boatwright of Griffin; daughter, Debra (Dennis) Smith of Clermont, FL; grandchildren, Shaun and Cory Boatwright, Jason and Joshua Smith; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Blake, Alexis, Tenley, Ashton, Victoria, Caleb, Jayden, Mason and Corbin.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis G. Smith and the Rev. Mike Henderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta at 2:00 PM with grandson, the Rev. Jason Smith presiding. Friends visited the family Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Ralph. Haisten Funeral Home, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway South, McDonough, GA 30253.

Born in Vidalia, GA, he was the son of the late Louie Boatwright and Willie Smith Boatwright. Bill was a US Army veteran and served during WWII. He was a member of Patton United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Carolyn Grier Boatwright; four sons, William L. Boatwright and wife Kay of Hayesville, NC, Thomas E. Boatwright and wife Marie of Shooting Creek, NC, Richard A. Boatwright of Westville, FL and Jeff L. Mr. Boatwright, 83, of Aiken, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at his residence.

Born and raised in the Aiken area, he was the son of the late Eddie Jerome and Estelle Fox Boatwright. Mr. Boatwright attended school at China Springs. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during WWII. He was a beloved member of Aiken's First Baptist Church. Mr. Boatwright was well known for his love of fishing and was the head of numerous fishing clubs. He was the owner/ operator of the B&B Glass Company for over thirty years.

In addition to his parents Mr. Boatwright was predeceased by his wife Lois Asalee Plunkett Boatwright who died in 1998, and by two brothers Frontis Boatwright and Blanding Boatwright.

Mr. Boatwright is survived by three sons; Rodney (Linda) Boatwright, Ridge Springs, SC, Bruce (Kathy) Boatwright, Aiken, and Wallace (Anne) Boatwright, Aiken. He is also survived by seven grand children and twelve great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lacey Boatwright will be held at 3pm Monday, March 24, 2008 at Aiken's First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Fred Andrea officiating. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Visitation will at the church on Monday from 1pm until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Aiken's First Baptist Church, 120 Chesterfield St. NE, Aiken, SC 29801, George Funeral Home and Cremation Center , 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC is assisting the family.

He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and was a thirty second degree Mason.
