John Robert Boatright, 84 years old, died Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock at his home on Route 5, Springdale.
He was born April 2, 1869, in Madison county. His parents were Hugh and Ann Lee Boatright. He was a former resident of Johnson having moved to Springdale two years ago. He was a member of the Johnson Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons: Albert Boatright, Fayetteville, and Ed and Elmer Boatright of Springdale: three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Bailey of Johnson, Mrs. Alice Daniels of Springdale and Mrs. Effie Dennis of Hindsville: two brothers, Ed Boatright and Walter Boatright, both of Springdale: one sister, Mrs. Nora Kuhn of Morris, Okla.: 33 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Church of Christ in Johnson with Leerie Ball, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in Stuckey cemetery at Johnson under the direction of Callison-Sisco Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anna Marie Berry, 82, of Rt. 5, Box 332, Springdale, died April 17, 1986 at her home. She was born Sept. 25, 1903 at Aurora, the daughter of John and Mary Frances Richfield Boatright. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Springdale and the Fishback Extension Homemakers Club in Springdale. She was the widow of Rupert Thomas Berry, who preceded her in death on May 13, 1978.
Survivors include five nieces and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
Funeral services were Monday, April 21 in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Anglin officiating. Interment was in the Alabam Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Richard Berry, Lyndell Berry, Charles Hugh Berry, Larry Hawkins, Homer Perryman and Danny Edens.

He was born June 23, 1885 at Kingston.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Moore of Springdale; a son, Bruce Boatright of Topeka, Kans.; three sisters, Belle Potter of Concordia, Calif., Oma Byers of Leavenworth, Kans., and Elsie Scott of Saint Louis, Mo.; one brother, Elmer Boatright of St. Louis, and four grandchildren.
Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery on Saturday, December 1.

Mrs. Anna N. Boatright, 97, 1316 Rogers Avenue, Springdale, died January 3 in a Springdale nursing home. Born January 6, 1880, in Seneca, Mo., she was the daughter of John and Jemima Bolinger Stansell, the widow of Bert C. Boatright, and a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include one son, Bruce Boatright of Huntsville; one daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Moore of Springdale; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. January 5 in Sisco Chapel with the Rev. Noel Easterling officiating. Burial was in the Huntsville Cemetery under the direction of Sisco.
Pallbearers were Creed Stansell, Leonard Stansell, Virgil Jones, Clell Jones, Jim Rieff and Darrell Williams.

Mrs. T. C. Boatright
Mrs. Lillie Emily Snow Boatright, 77, Rupert, Ida., died February 4, 1973 at Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert of cancer. She was born October 9, 1895 at Berryville, the daughter of John Preston and Alena Brashears Snow. On May 1, 1911 she married Thomas Carl Boatright at Berryville. He died in January, 1969.
Mr. and Mrs. Boatright went to Rupert from Berryville in 1917, and in 1943 they moved to Layton, Utah. Mrs. Boatright was employed at Hill Air force Base three years before moving back to in 1960. She was a member of the Old Settlers Association, Helping Hands Club and was affiliated with the Methodist Church and Senior Citizens group.
She is survived by a son, Norman J. Boatright of Layton, Utah; five daughters, Mrs. Uel (Kate) Walker of Rupert, Mrs. Ray (Blanche) Heiner of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Ward (Georgia) Volkers of Jerome, Ida., and Mrs. Dean (Marjorie) Adams, and Mrs. Leonard (Tomcan) Simonson of Layton, four brothers, George Snow of Lane, Kans., Joe Snow of Bremerton, Wash., and Neff Snow and Deral Snow of Berryville, two sisters, Cleata Freeman and Annabell Anderson, of Berryville, 30 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held February 7 at 11:00 AM at Walk Mortuary Chapel, Rupert, with Rev. Stanley Andres of Burley, Ida., officiating. Burial was in Rupert Cemetery.

HUNTSVILLE -- Joe T. Boatright, 88, of Huntsville died Sept. 22, 2007, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born July 2, 1919, in Huntsville to W.A. and Lela Vista Montgomery Boatright.
He was a retired farmer, meat-cutter and grocer. He was named associate of the year in 2004 at the Harp's Food Store in Huntsville at age 85. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a Baptist and had served on the Huntsville City Council for 58 years, which made him the longest serving alderman in the history of the United States. He was a member of Huntsville Lodge 365, F&AM for 61 years, the Hayes-Smith Post 137 American Legion Post 10021, Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Huntsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lisha Zoleta Ledbetter Boatright, on Feb. 26, 1993.
Survivors include one son, Bill Boatright of Huntsville; two sisters, Betty Hunt of San Diego and Bertie Fulkerson of Tulsa, Okla.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville with the Rev. Butch Bolinger officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted by Huntsville Lodge 364.
Burial will be in Alabam Cemetery with military honors by the Air Force.

Ewell came to Fort Gibson in 1920 to work in his brother's business, Boatright's General Store. In 1927 he purchased the Corner Drug Store across the street. It was here that he met his future wife; Ewell's friends, Lawrence Owens and Beulah Mae Easley (later Owens) introducted him to Beulah Mae's best Friend, Ruth Yeager.
They were married on 5 Jun 1931; and a son Kirk was born on 9 Feb 1937. Kirk had 2 children: Ann Marie Boatright who married Robert Ryals Jr., and Neal Kirk Boatright.
In the fall of 1937, Ewell sold the drug store and moved his family to Vinita, where he purchased and operated the International Harvester Implement Store. He sold the store in the spring of 1938 and returned to Ft. Gibson. He purchased a hardware and lubmer business which he oprated until 1939 when it was sold to Ross Kneeland.
Ewell then bought the general store his brother had sold to H. I. Hinds in 1934. He and Ruthe operated this business as Boatright's General Store until 1960, when he sold a partnership to Joseph Gladd.
During this time, Ewell purchased the lot diagonally across Lee St. from the store. On this property was the Corner Cafe, operated by Jane McClain. Ewell and Ruth also built the house behind the store that would be their family home.
On Christmas Day, 1941, a daughter Ruth Ann was born. Ruth Ann married Anthony R. "Tony" Stockton and had 2 children: Darin Kent Stockton, and Mindy Stockton who married Matt Hendrix.
Ewell served as president and member of the Ft. Gibson School Board from the laate 1930's to his death in 1961. He was a Mason and a member of the Alpha Lodge #12 in Ft. Gibson. Ewell and Ruth and the family were active in the Presbyterian Church, and later, the Methodist Church.
They also owned several farms. Ewell died on 2 Aug 1961 after attending a little league baseball game, suffering a stroke.
