Udene Boatright
A resident of Howe, Oklahoma, formerly of Mansfield, Arkansas. A loving mother of 6 children, grandmother of 15, and great-grandmother of 19, Udene was born April 26, 1922 in Fanshawe, Oklahoma to the late Oscar and Anne Pennington. She married the late L.D. Boatright on June 15, 1941 in Scott County, Arkansas and they were married 45 years. She was also preceded in death by one son, William A. (Bill) Boatright.
She was a gold star mother and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Funeral service was held at 10 am Thursday, September 28, 2000 at the Pleasant Grove #2 Baptist Church with interment in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Abbott under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield.
She is survived by her children, Alan and Sandra Boatright of Dover, Arkansas, and their children/grandchildren, Tami and Marc Allen and Chris Mitchell and Emily of Tigard, Oregon and Tony and Lisa Boatright and Tyler and Austin of Beaverton, Oregon, Larry and Betty Boatright of Sallisaw, Oklahoma the their children/grandchildren, Stefan and Lori Boatright, Christopher and Chandler and Chrissy and Jeff Escalante, Darius and Ethan all of Mansfield, Arkansas, Kimberly and Donnie Schockey, Taree and Codie, and Kelly and Tim McKinney, Mika and Terry all of Sallisaw, Beverly and Jim Lyons of Mansfield, Arkansas and the children/grandchildren, Stephanie and David Morgan, Kayla and Cheyenne, and April and Mike Robles, Michael and Cody all of Mansfield, Brock Lyons of Mansfield, Ki and Dakota Lyons of Van Buren, Arkansas, Donna and Johnny Mac Webb of Howe, Oklahoma and their children/ grandchildren, Victoria and Chad Alphin, and Marcus of Howe, Oklahoma and Brandy Webb and Justin Pickle also of Howe. Funeral services for Ellen Fontenot Boatright, 84, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Jeff Smart officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Boatright was born on August 16, 1926 in Oakdale, LA and passed away Friday, December 31, 2010. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe since 1946, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, served on a pastor search committee and in later years helped care for elderly members of the church. She was a Sherrouse Elementary School PTA Officer, Ouachita Parish High School Lionette sponsor, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher's Organization, and River Oaks Business Club sponsor.
Mrs. Boatright graduated from Oakdale High School as valedictorian, Southwestern Louisiana, now the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, and obtained a Masters in Education from Peabody College in Nashville, TN, now Vanderbilt University.
Mrs. Boatright was a business educator for over 35 years beginning in 1946 at Ouachita Parish High School, and continuing at Northeast Louisiana State College, now the University of Louisiana-Monroe, River Oaks School, and Delta-Ouachita Vocational School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eloi and Annie Langford Fontenot; brothers, Sam Fontenot and Calvin Fontenot; and sister, Aneloi Endy.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Dewitt Boatright; son, Sam Boatright and wife Nancy of Collierville, TN; daughter, Ellen Ann Gober and husband Giles of Crossett, AR; grandchildren, Emily Boatright and John Boatright of San Diego, CA, Paul Gober of Crossett, AR and Megan Gober of Monroe, LA, Melanie Sartain and husband Brandon and Aimee Page and husband Russ of Memphis, TN; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, January 3, 2011at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family would like to thank the staff of Avalon Nursing Home and Rehab, her roommate at Avalon, Marianna Johnson, her caregiver, Clarice Taylor, Louisiana Hospice, Medistar Home Healthcare, and Dr. Kerry Anders and staff.

Dutch retired from Amoco Oil in Sugar Creek, He was manager of operations and Fire Chief. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved fishing and hunting.

Dutch was preceded in death by his, Mother, Father first wife Earnestine, second wife Margaret, and two brothers.
He was survived by a beloved son, Jim Boatright and wife Pam, a daughter Gayle Maib and husband Robert, two step-sons Chris Danforth and Larry Danforth.
He was loved and cherished by his grandchildren Joshua and Jared Maib, Matt, Jayson, and erynn Boatright and Sarah Danfroth. He is also survived by two sisters Dot Odom, Vonda Clinton and several nieces and nephews.
Dutch will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

STAUNTON - Harold Gene Boatright, 86, of 21 Woodlee Road, Apt. 229, Staunton, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Baldwin Park in Staunton.
He was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Herrin, Ill., a son of the late Marion Boatright and Ruth Fulkerson Boatright.
Mr. Boatright grew up in Herrin, where he attended school and graduated from high school. After graduating, he entered the militar, serving in the U.S. Army. He later attended Purdue University on the G.I. Bill. He graduated and was later employeed by Goodyear AeroSpace in Akron, Ohio, doing defense work. He also worked for Martin-Marietta Corp. Mr. Boatright retired in 1986 and moved to Baldwin Park in Staunton in 2004. His activities included working with Boy Scouts of America, Little League Baseball, Habitat for Humanity and being a tutor to many. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, of a 53-year marriage, in 2003.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Kenneth A. Boatright and wife, Shelley, of Waynesboro; a brother, Carl Boatright of San Marcos, Calif.; a sister, Ruby Simmons of Du Quoin, Ill.; and grandchildren; Jeffrey Boatright and wife, Laura, both medical students at the University of Florida, living in Gainesville, Fla., Jill Boatright of New Orleans and David Boatright, a student at James Madison University.
A celebration of life will be shared at a later date at Baldwin Park in Staunton. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today, March 6, 2010, at McDow Funeral Home.

Notes for DEMARIES ACIREMA KETCHUM:
DeMaries Ketchum Boatright Smith, 96, daughter of Herbert and Ella Malcolm Ketchum, was born Dec. 26, 1909, at Newton, Kan. She died June 2, 2006, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
After completing school, she was a telegraph operator at the Santa Fe Railroad headquarters in Topeka, Kan.
She met and married a fellow telegrapher, William "Bill" E. Boatright July 11, 1933.
Mr. Boatright entered the service as a lieutenant, later making captain. Mrs. Boatright resigned her job with the Santa Fe Railroad to follow her husband to his posts in the United States. At the end of the war, he was sent to France for two years, and she followed him there.
At his military retirement in 1957 as a lieutenant colonel, they purchased the family farm at Elk Creek as their retirement home.
Mr. Boatright died July 3, 1967, and she remained on the farm.
She married Ray C. Smith, whom she had known in Topeka, Kan., for many years, June 23, 1977, in Reno, Nev. He died in 1996.
Mrs. Smith played both the piano and organ and studied music composition at Purdue University after returning from France.
Surviving is a sister, Ruth Herman of Medford, Ore.
Services were June 10 at Steeley Chapel at Elk Creek. Burial was in the Steeley Chapel Cemetery.

Don Boatright was born in Eldorado, Illinois on 21 Jul 1921. He was a P51 pilot in the Army Air Force during WWII, stationed in Tunbridge-Wells, England. He was part of the 363rd Fighter Group (The Pied Pipers); he received a Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross. During a 1944 mission accompanying bombers in Germany, a ground-launched shell entered the left side of the cockpit and exited on the right side. He flew the damaged P51 back to England and landed safely, but lost the vision in his left eye to the shrapnel.
